It’s been eight years since I started following Fishing Home. Recently, Fishing Home launched two new products: Chinese herbal wine and tender corn. Let me first talk about the Chinese herbal wine—it’s made from pure grain, 52% alcohol, has strong penetration, and a rich fermented aroma similar to the natural fermentation smell of underwater food, which fish naturally love. For wild fishing, you can add 1 to 2 milliliters of this herbal wine to 500 grams of bait, especially when fish aren’t biting. It works as an attractant to get them to eat!
When I fish normally, I usually mix equal parts of fishy and fragrant bait, add some snowflake powder, and when it’s hot, I add five drops of the herbal wine. The way to make pull bait? Don’t even look at the recommended bait-to-water ratio—whether it’s 1:0.9 or 1:1, ignore it! Just pour a cup or a handful of bait into the basin, add water first, and make it really thin. Then use dry bait to absorb the excess water. Try this method, and it’ll work!

How to Choose Fishing Spots and Venues
First, if the underwater terrain is uneven, it provides hiding places for fish, and there’s usually a pile of natural food washed over by the water—fish won’t miss such a safe and food-rich spot!
Second, the junction of deep and shallow water. We all know shallow water has more natural food, but it’s dangerous for fish because they’re easier to spot by predators. So fish usually hang around the deep-shallow junction: it’s close to the food-rich shallow area, and they can quickly escape to deep water if there’s danger!
Third, areas with aquatic plants, plankton, or obstacles like willow trees falling into the water. These are great hiding spots for fish and natural fishing nests!

Also, when wild fishing, besides choosing a good venue, remember one key point: the underwater must be clean! If it’s not clean—like there are branches, dead grass, or mud—you basically can’t catch anything. So find a spot that’s clean and uneven underwater; that’s the best choice!
Fishing Home Tender Corn: Two Types and Usage
Fishing Home’s tender corn comes in two types:
- Fishing Bait Tender Corn: Hand-stripped from the middle section of corn, each grain is plump with intact germ—just hook it and use it directly.
- Fishing Home Corn Bait: Machine-threshed, sinks slowly in water, and keeps fish around longer—better results!
When using corn to catch culter or grass carp, nesting is a must. I usually mix Fishing Home’s corn bait with store-bought tender corn for nesting, then use Fishing Home’s tender corn as hook bait. Throw a spoonful every hour, and another spoonful every time you catch a fish!
For the leader line: make it long—usually 1.5 meters folded, with the distance between the two hooks 30 to 50 centimeters. The float should be at least 45 centimeters long. Use heavy lead on the lower hook to find the bottom, then pull the float down to your desired depth. Remove the lead from the hook, rewrap it on the lead seat, hook the corn, and adjust to your desired float eye!

Weather Matters a Lot!
The best weather is overcast or rainy with a level 3 north wind, northwest wind, or northeast wind. Second choice is east wind or southeast wind. Avoid southwest wind, south wind, and west wind—these make it stuffy, and you’ll barely catch any fish!

By the way, these two new products are my favorites now. Every time I use them, I almost always catch fish! Fishing is about slowing down, enjoying the quiet time alone—watching the float, preparing bait, and feeling the joy of catching fish. It’s that simple! Life is too short for regrets; if it’s not the end, keep smiling and moving forward. Hope these tips help you catch more fish next time!
